Boat Detailing at Lake Lanier
Adams Detailing provides mobile boat detailing at Lake Lanier and surrounding North Georgia lake communities — we travel to your dock, marina, or storage lot. Every job is a custom quote based on your boat's length and condition, given to you in writing before we start.

Marine detailing isn’t a side offering here — it’s a specialty. Restore. Enhance. Protect. applies just as much to a pontoon deck or a center console hull as it does to a car.
What Is Boat Detailing?
Boat detailing is the process of washing, polishing, and protecting a boat’s gelcoat, hardware, and interior — removing oxidation and surface contaminants to restore shine and guard against sun, water, and salt damage.
Lake Lanier is hard on gelcoat. UV exposure, water minerals, and pollen from Georgia’s spring pine season all build up on hulls and decks faster than most owners expect, and a boat that sits at a dock or lift for weeks between outings oxidizes even without being used. Regular detailing is what keeps a boat looking like it did the day you bought it instead of looking like it’s aged a decade in three seasons.

Do You Come to My Marina or Dock?
Yes. Marine detailing jobs travel farther than our standard auto service radius — where car and truck detailing stays within about an hour of Cumming, GA, boat detailing extends beyond that to reach marinas, private docks, lifts, and storage lots around Lake Lanier and nearby lake communities. If your boat is in the water, on a lift, or in dry storage, we bring the equipment to it. See our Service Area page for the full Lake Lanier marine coverage map.
Boat Detailing Packages
| Package | What It Covers | Pricing |
|---|---|---|
| Surface Layer Detail | Exterior wash, polish, and protection pass — the maintenance-level detail for a boat that's kept up regularly | Custom quote |
| Full Detail (Boat) | Comprehensive exterior and interior detail — deeper cleaning, protection, and restoration for a boat that's due for a real refresh | Custom quote |
Both packages are quoted individually by boat length and condition — there’s no flat rate because a 20-foot pontoon that’s washed weekly and a 30-foot boat that’s sat oxidizing all winter aren’t the same job.

Oxidation & Gelcoat Correction
Chalky, faded gelcoat is oxidation, and it’s the single most common issue we see on Lake Lanier boats. The fix is the same 1-step and 2-step paint correction process we use on automotive clear coat — a cutting compound levels heavier oxidation and scratches, then a finishing polish restores gloss and depth. See our Paint Correction page for the full 1-step vs. 2-step breakdown; it applies to gelcoat exactly the way it applies to a car’s paint.
Heavily oxidized or oversized hulls are quoted individually, since correction time scales directly with how far gone the gelcoat is and how much surface area needs to be worked.
Removes light to moderate oxidation and swirl marks.
Removes moderate to heavy oxidation and scratches.
What Types of Boats Do You Detail?
We detail everything from daily-driver pontoons and runabouts to oversized houseboats and luxury wake boats, among other recreational boat types common on Lake Lanier. Whether it’s a family pontoon that sees weekend traffic all summer or a houseboat that needs extra time just for its size, the same wash-polish-protect process applies — scaled to the boat’s size and layout.

How Much Does Boat Detailing Cost?
Boat detailing is always a custom quote — there’s no standard flat rate because boat length, gelcoat condition, and oxidation level all change the scope of work. What we can promise is a real, specific number given to you before any work starts, not a vague “call for pricing” runaround. Tell us your boat’s length and general condition and we’ll get you an accurate quote.
